I love simple, clean cut coats. This one from Andrew Marc looks SO nice in this cream color. Now you’ve gotta have a lot of class to pull off a white coat. You also have to be pro at not spilling stuff, tripping, and stepping in mud. I, for one, would not be a good candidate for this coat. No matter how hard I tried, I would probably get it dirty the first time I wore it. But for those of you who don’t have this problem, I say go for it! This will up your class factor right away!

I used to have a coat like this when I was little – pleats at the empire waist, cute buttons on top, etc… for some reason, I absolutely hated it! I think I was going through an “I want to be a tomboy” stage. (FYI, my efforts proved that I was as far away from “tomboy” as possible). I love this checked wool coat from See by Chloe’. I usually gravitate toward fitted clothing, especially coats, but lately I’ve been into more loose, laid-back clothing like this coat. It’s got a little bit of a boxy shape to it – not fitted at the shoulders or waist. Oh. My gosh. This coat is Givenchy at its finest. I only wish I was Audrey Hepburn back in the 60s so that I could wear Givenchy everything for free! Man, she had it made.

This Alessandro Dell’ Acqua is totally vintage. It’s not fitted everywhere like most wool coats these days, but I think that’s part of the reason I like it. It’s different. And it’s got a really classic look to it, too.
